Since the Occupy WallStreet protests started along with with my reading and learning about how our country fell into this mess in the first place, the same suggestions to improve the various major and most talked about problems have come up.
My saying the word “same” is not to imply that I feel suggestions aren’t valid let alone warranted; of course we need to figure out how we are going to, and pardon me for lack of a better term, rectify the situation, but there’s a concern that supersedes all these other concerns, because, if it were ever taken into consideration and adjusted or, say, overhauled altogether, all the concerns everyone currently has to talk about would be dependent on the outcome of this most important concern: currency.
Ever since I watched a video explaining how our Federal Reserve and the big banks have been swindling us, I have placed this topic as an issue above the rest. To those of you who read this and are surprised that I used the word “swindling”, then perhaps you will say this and more, if you watch the Zeitgeist film titled, Zeitgeist — The Movie: The Federal Reserve.
In the shortest explanation possible, the Zeitgeist film explains the history of the Federal Reserve and, in parallel, the big bankers whose family names may ring bells, for they may still be around what with old money being inherited through to the present generations. This film details how the American founders and people did not want to be indebted to Great Britain by being loaned currency. But even with the creation of a “debt-free” currency, the powers that-be forced in the Federal Reserve against the wishes of the American people and with the help of key figures — 10 to be exact. These 10 figures would sign into affect an institution that would directly influence the markets — inflation and the amount of the U.S. dollar.
Then it talks about how these key figures who — mind you, continue on today while still remaining unknown but just as powerful in order to influence the American people as others had before them — would be key players in the major wars of the United States against other countries. Greed is what set the two main events continuously occurring throughout our country’s history to happen. For instance what other way to influence the U.S. dollar than to influence when bank customers to pay off their loans immediately through tactics that spread false information inciting mass panic or persuade the American public that war must be set in motion for whatever reason necessary so that more money will be pooled for the war effort. What does this mean for the people behind the curtain/the powers that-be/the key figures? This means they earn more money. No. Wait. This does not mean they earn more money. This means they SWINDLE/STEAL/TAKE/SWIPE/GRAB more of our money. And would you know this has all been going on since our country’s founding!
The rest of the Zeitgeist film sheds some light on what we, as the current population of our country, have been duped into believing what is real versus what isn’t real. And it makes us realize what we need to do. Personally, I say IT IS WHAT WE ARE OBLIGATED TO DO, because is it OUR AMERICAN RIGHT!
This movie is TERRIFYING in its message. They speak of a one world government and the envisioned paths that popular media has shown happens in a one world government, but this is not laughable let alone too far from the truth; while: Asia is one union; Europe is one union; and Africa is one union; the only significantly populated continents left are North and South America, and guess what? Back in 2008, former President Bush wanted to set into motion signing for a North American Union — a union combining Canada, the U.S., and South America! And he was going to do it without approval from Congress and the American public!
One issue the film notes is how there are already people who have volunteered to have microchips inserted under their skin. Yes. Tracking devices for humans are real! This woman of the family who was willing to have this surgery mentioned how her decision was a result of having been concerned about the security of our nation after September 11th. And there may still be microchips people can volunteer to have inserted! There are certainly other key points made throughout this five part film, but this fact is just the beginning. What else does this narrator believe to be true and eminent?
Again, while we are communicating on the most dire issues our country is and has been facing and that needs a turnaround, the much more important issue on a one world government has been popping up one way or the other out the mouths of people who society would almost immediately deem mentally unstable.
And yet there are signs that the state of our globe needs to be taken back by its 99%, and that means that where there is 99%, there is 1%, and that 1% is seemingly invincible, mysterious, and completely in control of our quality of life. Regardless of what we think will happen, we know we cannot continue to stand by passively, while our rights and quality of life are robbed. Here is a surefire approach:
1.) Transfer your accounts to a credit union, so that the families that descend from big bankers who begun the RUIN on our country’s financial state DOES NOT EARN A SINGLE PENNY MORE FROM YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY THAT’S YOUR RIGHT TO KEEP.
2.) Do you know those junk mail credit card offers you receive? Yes. You do. EVERYONE GETS THE OFFERS INCLUDING TEENAGERS! Here’s what you do:
Open the envelope.
Take out all the paperwork, and grab hold of the envelope enclosed.
Create a flyer centered around Occupy WallStreet, or use one off the internet. Keep it APPROPRIATE, mind you. You don’t want to stoop to a low level. Trust me, when I say it will be more worth it to keep the message mature, when you find out what is going on.
Place the flyer in the envelope you grabbed ahold of initially.
Can you think of something heavy that can be placed in the envelope you grabbed ahold of initially? Is there anything that will fit inside AS WELL AS not break the mail sorting machines at the post office? Great! I heard in a video of this man instructing what I am reiterating here that a brick would be great, if it were attached on the outside of the envelope by something strong, but I wouldn’t recommend that. Just make sure it’s appropriate. It’s not worth getting in trouble; after all, who will replace you at doing this task, if you are in the slammer?
Place the heavy item in the envelope.
Place the flyer and the heavy item is inside; seal; and send the envelope off!
You may be wondering what this is supposed to achieve — sending back the junk mail. Well do you remember how often you have received this junk mail from the credit card industry thus far in your life?
… Wait for it…
Do you get it now?
Okay. Okay.
I will divulge the reason.
Sending back the junk mail will not only tell the credit card company that you will not comply with their “INSANELY AMAZING 0% APR FOR 12 MONTHS”-that-EVERYONE-KNOWS-ends-up-with-a-double-digit-interest-rate-with-penalty-fee-after-penalty-fee-to-the-point-of-not-being-able-to-pay-off-the-principle-because-the-interest-is-so-high-every-month-CREDIT CARDS! So don’t let them think that you are going to tear up another junk mail envelope they send you! Make wonderful use of the envelope that would otherwise have a short lifespan! Send it back!
And the reason you are sending it back with the flyer is because…
Wait for it…
Yes.
Because, unless you have been living under a rock for the past four months or rely on the major t.v. news media, there is this, ahem, GLOBAL movement that, here in the United States is called Occupy WallStreet. Its main purpose is to protest against WallStreet and, but for some protestors, it is to also protest against the big banks, credit card companies, etc. So the flyer about Occupy WallStreet will let the banking companies know that you are not sheltered, that you KNOW THEY ARE THIEVES, and that THEY KNOW THAT WE KNOW THEY ARE THIEVES.
And the heavy object is for them to pay for. Really! Yes! They get to pay for something? AND we don’t have to sign a contract for them to have to pay for something on our behalf? YES! Because the heavy object requires extra postage, and sending postage within the continental U.S. is free, we don’t have to pay for it, but if the object is heavy for the free postage we didn’t have to pay for, then they have to foot the bill!
So in the grand scheme because: they get their dose of medicine back at their office, because they’ll end up having a true understanding of what the movement is really about drilled into their philistine thinking; they will have to pay for the postage; AND they will have to use up a good chunk of their time they would have used thinking about new ideas go around how they will rob Americans distracted with this one letter PLUS all the other junk mail that has been sent back with its own surprises. Finally the postal service workers can continue working longer hours, because we will be providing them with more work to do, so that they can continue to earn a decent paycheck, because they are 99%, and they are helping to give it right back to the credit card companies. Isn’t revenge wonderful?
3.) Don’t spend money on magazines and other major news media that is involved with extolling information about the wealthy families around the world. No. Not all very wealthy people are bad, but if we presented this question to the movement, the answer would be that it’s the principle of the matter. Spending money on magazines that feature the 1% is not helping the 99%.
4.) Heck. Don’t go on major websites that feature this information either. Aside from my own personal reasons for avoiding these websites, feeding these people viewership is perhaps just as bad as is paying for the magazine.
5.) Avoid the t.v. And do it because it IS a distraction. The Zeitgeist film strongly communicates that the television is what people believe to dispense true and realistic information.
NO.
IT IS NOT.
They also said that it is set up so that people are distracted to where they don’t think as much as they could. If they did think more, they would educate themselves and be more aware of what is going on around them and on what truly matters in their lives. On a personal note I have not had cable where I live for over five years, and I have made a point to not watch the news, when I am at work or anywhere else where there is a t.v., and if it is on, and I can’t avoid it, I DON’T hang on to what it says like there’s no tomorrow so to speak. There’s a clarity I have had with not watching t.v. (and more importantly the news). I don’t spend so much time worrying about issues that don’t apply to me. And what issues would those be you ask?
Murders: Unless the murder happened in my neighborhood or involved a family member or loved one — WHERE I DEFINITELY WOULDN’T NEED TO LISTEN TO THE NEWS TO FIND OUT ABOUT, then it doesn’t apply to me, so I don’t care. Yes. It’s horrible — people dying, but I didn’t know them, so why do I need to think about this for the rest of my day? This is the same for other major acts of violence.
Weather: Hmm. I walk outside, and if it feels cold, I put on a coat; if it feels colder, I add a scarf and gloves; if it’s hot, I wear less; if it’s rainy, I cover with an umbrella. Do you see the logic here? Why do I need to know how much precipitation is in the air let alone down to the tenths degree how it’s going to be?
Social issues and politics:
No.
No.
And no.
I learned a long time ago that the t.v. news is not the end-all be-all of being informed. Therefore, it’s not AT ALL. If I want to know about something, then I will read about it or talk about it with someone, but regardless of how I get the information, I won’t get so worked up about it, because although it will end up being a topic that does apply to me, it will be detrimental for me to let it distract me from what I can do to help fix the issue if need be.
Aside from these reasons, the overarching reason why I don’t watch the news is that it warps the message to the viewer. The Occupy WallStreet protests are an excellent example; aside from the news reports that have clearly placed the protestors in an unfavorable light, has there been a lot of news coverage anyway? NO! That’s because the major news networks are not allowed to talk about the protests. I do not know what reason they have been talked about even a little thus far, but the fact they are not talking about the protests on a daily basis in a FAVORABLE light, because they are the 99% JUST LIKE THE NEWS ANCHORS is hypocrisy.
The Zeitgeist film mentioned that people are so dependent on television that they are stupid. I respect this idea, but this idea scares me, because I used to be dependent on television, back when I was in high school. I was in high school and would have daily moments where I was finished with homework, and/or was on vacation, didn’t have a job, and found there was nothing to do, I remember watching t.v. for half the day. And aside from what I thought about the majority of people who I attended high school with, I felt the topic of popular media was always beneath them for conversation, for when I would reference a t.v. show, they would almost immediately verbalize how they didn’t watch t.v. or how they thought I watched it too much. Although they hadn’t a clue about how much I watched, I will admit that I watched too much.
However, aside from the fact that I thought they were ostracizing me because, heaven forbid I view entertainment from a television, a device every American knows about, owns, and has utilized before, I would eventually move out to go to college and almost immediately, for financial and schedule reasons, discontinue watching t.v. altogether like my former peers had perfected applying years earlier. For the next three years, I would not watch t.v., and it was great! Whereas I grew up watching the news, night report t.v. shows, and many other t.v. shows, I had cut myself off, and it was liberating! Before I remember being more anxious, because I would remember a story I had learned about, and it crop up later on. It would become a habit — watching news reports, and this habit would eventually became unhealthy. I would eventually experience worry about something I thought could happen to me because I heard about it on a news report, and it was something I realized I was not going to subject myself to experiencing anymore. Some people may argue that there are still good reasons for watching the news, but I feel that if it was an important enough issue, it would have ended up in a conversation that I would have partaken in.
A year or two later I would get together with my now ex-boyfriend of over five years, and his family and I would watch certain shows on the t.v. I never planned on watching t.v. again, because I had been on a roll so to speak where t.v. was not in my life. But they made it easier to watch t.v., because we would eventually watch them on tape, so that we only watched the literal show and not the commercials, and we would never watch reality t.v., the news, or majorly popular t.v. shows that seemed everyone else was watching or seemed puffed up or fake for its own sake. I don’t know if it’s explainable, but I ABHOR popular t.v. shows, sitcoms with the side scrolling camera and APPLAUSE sign to cue laughter, reality shows, and shows that seem to star arrogant or fake people. To some degree I feel like I am the pot calling the kettle black so to speak, but then I remember that I don’t watch anything that isn’t a comedy and/or makes me think the worst about American television, so I know I am not.
Eventually my now ex-boyfriend and I would move in together and not have cable t.v., because of the expense, but we would have Netflix, and I still have it to this day. Now I find that I don’t know about the majority of topics people bring up, when they talk about shows, and I find I am not referencing shows like I once did in high school. Although that was quite some time ago to where some may think I shouldn’t compare myself to who I am now, I feel better doing so, because whereas the old me was someone who didn’t have as much individual expression and opinion as I do now (didn’t know how to be more selective and careful about television watching), the new me is very careful about what is viewed and feels liberated from the tube.
These five steps to the approach of making yourself less dependent on the major banks, wealthy 1%, and the distractions set up by not putting money, attention, or brain matter and energy toward is worthwhile.
